That place can be hot at times. Glad you had a good day thanks. What color was working best for you?

Its fun to catch them with one pole but pulling or pushing takes skill anyone can throw a single rod. I say don't knock it to you try it. There is some great guys on here that would take you and show you how's its done.
There is some guys like my dad that can't throw all day.
I'm right here in northern Athens, Abalama, and throwing a net in front of your boat and trolling around until you snag fish ain't fishing and it never will be. Do you deer hunt with a machine gun? When I hear the argument about how tough it is to watch 6 or 8 poles and try to get fish off the line, all I hear is whining. Fish and game would like a one rod limit. They tried to change the law a few years ago, and it wasn't the fishermen who challenged them, it was the retail stores that wanted the continued sales.
I won't get the law changed and I won't change a whole lot of people's minds, but your justifications for 'netting' with multiple poles is not fishing. You are not a responsible fisherman, you simply want to haul fish in the boat and brag that you accomplished something.
Must be a youngun Let him rant> As long as one fishes by the law of the state, its no one elses business.

James1972, I'm with you on the disabled and older folks who want to fish and can't throw a rod all day. One of my best friends is in that same boat. He hates people knowing he has to troll with 4 rods, but physically, he can't throw a rod. He has real trouble even getting the rod off the holder and the fish off the hook. But he's on the water and fishing, and God bless him and others who push that envelope and hit the water.

Yep he thinks his way is only way game and fish could care less as long as your legal. I spider rig,one pole, long line even pull crankbaits in summer and enjoy all of it. I had pretty good day on wheeler also Saturday spider rigging but did not get on here and attack how someone else likes to fish.
I say if you are within the rules of the state you are in or specific lake you are on, by all means fish that way. I have never spider rigged or pushed cranks so that doesn't directly offend me but I frequently fish for trout with light spinning gear and I get severely irritated most trips by the fly fishermen who make sarcastic comments to me about keeping fish or who object to fishing for them with anything buy fly gear and artificial bait.
