Default Curly tails, here we go

After reading several post on how these are the ticket for slow action crappie. I went to bps and picked up a few packs. Figured it was worth a shot. Got my hot colors I usually use. Will report in round lunch on my findings.

That's a teaser report, ha, gotta give more info. How deep were you fishing em ? What size head ? I assume you were casting and counting down ? What color combo worked best ?

    Way to go BAMA!

I've used small curly tails when Crappie are hitting baits on the fall. If you can find a lead head just heavy enough to cause the tail to flutter, but still allow a very slow fall they work great targeting docks or laydowns when Crappie are suspended. You'll usually end up with lots of gills if your hook is small enough also.

Fish were suspended in 20-25 fow. We were casting in then counting to ten and slow reeling. We used a chartreuse and white curly tail

I use white curly tails with pink heads in muddy water. read a bill dance article once and tried it. works great most of the time in muddy and or stained water. also Walmart sells them already put together, all you need is to add a drop of superglue to make the body's stay on.
