Me and a friend fished tonight, started at ditto, then went to honeycomb bridge then mink creek causeway. 0 fish the whole 6 hours of fishing. There was a truck at mink creek causeway and 2 guys fishing it. Neither of us had ever fished there before, so we stopped and walked up and asked if they were doing any good, they said no so I asked if it would mess them up any if we fished the other side and they said go ahead. They both left after we got to the other side to fish. We fished for about 20 minutes and decided to call it quits. When we got back to the truck I noticed that my tackle box that I left in the bed was gone (didn't feel like carrying it again). It had my corks, glow sticks, hooks and sinkers in it. I know I shouldn't have left it out but it's a dam shame that people will take what isn't theirs. So Im out about $100 worth of tackle without a single fish to show for it.

Croppie hate to hear you got ripped off while trying to enjoy a fishing trip. This had been going on for years at Guntersville dam.The police have stepped up patrols there but the thieves just move on.I night fish a lot and have followed others back to my truck just to let them no I,m being aware of my surroundings. Make sure you make a report you're not the only victim of scum.

I usually leave my doors unlocked and nothing of value in the truck. That saves the broken window thing but Its not uncommon for some of those folks leaving the hole or some of the neighborhood meth heads to toss a vehicle for spare change or whatever they can find. Happens quite often at the Mill Creek causeway too. BTW the Mink Creek spot is on the upstream side of the road. if the fish are really biting, they can be caught on the downstream side, but its almost always the upstream side to either side of the culvert and swimming jigs in the culvert. typically they will bite minnows really well early evening and then there will be a 3-5 hour lull followed by a decent bite from 11 pm till just after daylight and then they can be caught swimming jigs through the culvert. sometimes the jig bite last all day and sometimes an hour or so early and then a 2-3 hour period mid day........
