    Default Logan Martin weekend report

I did really well shooting piers Saturday caught over 50 fish brought 33 home. Several small bass in the total so not all crappie. Fished from 8 to 3. Buddies went from day light to dark shooting piers caught 60+.
They went back Sunday shooting piers and they caught overy 100. Very few slabs from both of us. Had to throw back a lot of small fish but fun weekend. Went yesterday for about 2 hours and caught around 15 kept 6.

All using Bobby garland either monkey milk or that solid pink color can't remember what its called. I use crappie nibble. none of my other buddies do.

How much longer do we have shooting piers? What's the next phase for hotter weather crappie. I have only been successful this time of year shooting piers but now set up to long line as well. Just don't know where to go and how to find them once they go deep.

if the docks are in deeper water, they should hold fish all summer long. My best days are the hot days of july and august.

When the fish move deep the best way to target them is to vertical jig them on deep drop offs or spider rig.

I was thinking deeper docks should hold fish. And far as spider rigging I'm set up but only tried it once. Then got back on the piers. It was fun I'm ready to try again.

Good report. They should be under the docks most of the summer. I bet that big cat was fun on a 14ft. Pole

We were fishing about mid lake in a creek off the main river going along the edge of the creek channel from 14 to 18 feet deep. It took her over 10 min. to land that one. We were using 10 lb. main line with leaders made of 6 lb. line. It was caught on a road runner head with a Charlie Brewer Slider tipped with a small minnow. You have to have a pretty loose drag to land one that big and be sure to have a good net.

Every time I get one of those slimy buggers on the line, they are sure to tangle 1/2 the lines I have out. I can only imagine what that would have done to my rigging. Hope you were able to get it in Roger as a no tangle event! lol

We did, it took off away from the boat and we kept it out of the other lines. We have had some in the past that made a big mess of things. Stripe seem to be the worse.
