The guides seem to still be getting plenty of nice fish for their clients.
i read somewhere that the crappie have been running small the last couple of years, any truth to that ? We were planning on a trip down next month but maybe not if thats the case.
thanks, Stan

may not want to come if your mission is a three pounder.but there are plenty of quality fish in Weiss lake including some three pounders. We just need a couple of weeks of warm weather.
Thanks guys, its been a long winter and we are just looking for an early time to get out have some fun and catch some fish. We are mainly looking for eaters but everyone dreams of slabs, thats why we do it right ? we just didnt want to drive all that way for a bunch of 9 a 10 inchers we can catch those here in another 3 or 4 weeks.
Again thank you, Stan
i'll be there at the end of this week.i hope to find those 12" to 15" fish.i hope this snow that is coming don't but a damper on my plans.

The he crappie are running larger this year then they have in the last 4 years. We are limiting out every trip. The earlier you come the bigger they will be. Once it warms up and the trolling bite really cranks up the keepers get combed up and it takes more fish caught to get a keeper.
Thanks

I have not been fishing Weiss long but last year I had my two personal bests 17-1/2 white and 15" black lots of keepers, until may then all small fish. I did here a rumor that the DNR shocked up a 6 lb crappie last year doing their catfish study?
