Default Theft at Barren Fork 8/29/14

I really enjoy fishing at Barren Fork as a change of pace to Limestone Bay. However I'm always a bit uneasy about parking my truck on the side of Zierdt Rd--mainly concerned about someone crashing into it. I had a great day, even caught a 15 lb Blue Cat! As I was loading the truck to leave, and making multiple trips back down to the water to grab my gear, and eventually drag my jon boat back up the hill someone stopped, jumped out and grabbed the splash-proof box containing my trolling motor battery from inside my truck and sped off................... There is no honor amongst thieves. Be extra careful out there, even in the middle of packing up or unloading.

Sorry to hear about the thief.

I park their all the time and hope it never happens to me, I'd be hard pressed not to end up shooting at them.

By the way, I've never floated any jugs in there, but lots of Catfish come into the area to gorge on Shad in the summer.

Nice catch.....hate it about your battery though. Somebody tried to steal my boat trailer this summer while I was fishing, they broke the lock but still could not get it off
I have spent most my life fishing........the rest I wasted.
