Default Begging for a fishing trip

So I'm visiting Gulf Shores AL from June 8 - 13th and would love to get a little southern fishing in. All these northern fish are nice, but they don't have anywhere near the same size as the southern ones (at least from pictures you guys post). If anyone is going out one of these days and doesn't mind another in the boat, I'd be happy to fill a seat. It will be a packed car, so I'd have no room for equipment unless I buy it there.

There are some guys from that area of the state on the board here, not too many. If you want to do some saltwater fishing, there is a great pier at the Gulf Shores State Park which can get you a good ways out into the ocean. I have fished there a couple times. They may rent equipment there, I really can't remember. There are some tackle shops around that will rent you a rod and a reel for not too much money. You wouldn't have to buy a fishing license if you went to the gulf shores state park pier either, it is included in the $8.00 daily fee. I live in birmingham and would say you could come with me, but i doubt you'll fit in my yak. Either way it should be a great trip.

pack a 2 piece med action bass rod, and fish live shrimp on a carolina rig, with 1-2 oz egg sinker at Perdido pass, or Little lagoon pass. Catch flounder, trouts, reds, sheepshead, mangrove snapper... the list goes on and on... and 2 piece rod doesnt take up hardley any room. That's what I do.
