    Default Logan Martin 4-1/ 4-2

Fished Logan yesterday from 4p.m. till dark. Caught 40 and brought home 29 all over 12". The fish I have been catching long lining seemed to be up and starting to spawn now. Everything I caught was in 1 ft of water or less on 1/32 plain lead head with junebug slider. My son and friend went back this evening and brought another 25 or so nice slabs home. He said they were also right up on the banks again today. Mainly in Seddon and Dye Creeks.

How do you long line in 1' of water? Seems like you couldn't keep the jigs off the bottom and be hard to keep the boat moving fast enough for that. I can understand straight jig fishing and float and fly but that's all I can visualize in that kind of water.

The fish I had been catching trolling had moved up on the banks to spawn. I didn't catch them trolling. Caught them all casting ,Sorry for the confusing post.

I've caught them long lining in as low as 2 1/2 feet. Actually a few years ago a friend came down from Memphis and it was really windy so we found a area that was holding crappie that was between 2 and 3 feet and out of the wind and we took home 60 crappie all from that area. Used 1/32 jig and went about 1.2 to 1.4 mph and only cast back about 20 feet.

Thanks USAFRET99!! I guess another option would be to put a cork on the line as well?

Yep have done that to. Actually one time my battery went dead so I put four corks on and let wind blow me across cove and when got to other side started big motor up and went back across and let wind low us across again.
