    fished 3 hours North Saulty caught 3 one crappie was 15 inch. Shad are moving back in and the stripes are thick.Talked to a Two different people fishing for bass and the water temp was 49.I caught my fish 5 ft deep in 12 foot of water.

    yea i was on logan martin yesterday and found coves/flats packed with shad but couldnt catch fish near them. only caught 3 no where near shad

    That is something I learned while fall fishing for schooling bass and crappie. I found that the fish I knew were there in a certain area already usually liked to hold and wait for the minnows to come to them, even if they were schooling madly close by for most of the day. I think a lot of times it's more structure/location than it is bait fish, although we all know the bait is usually on the top for a reason. It just seems like I do better in known areas than chasing minnows, but it is a plus when the bait is there, or nearby most of the time. And when the minnows are pushed into the strike zone, the area erupts like crazy. Good times.

    Going back Friday night and try the night bite .Maybe the stripes will not get all my minnows..
