Question about shad. Saw a guy casting a net catching alot of shad. For crappie at lake Weiss or I guess anywhere, would you catch more crapie with shad than minnows and if so why do you not see people using them more other than cant be bought and hard to keep alive if not properly areated etc.?

I know most shad you get in a throw net are too large for Crappie and they're very hard to keep alive.
