* at 10 pm tuesday the stage was 18.0 feet and rising.
* flood stage is 16.0 feet.
* minor flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast.
* recent activity...the maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at
10 pm tuesday was 18.0 feet.
* forecast...the river will continue rising to near 20.0 feet by friday morning.
* impact...at 20.0 feet...portions of alabama state highway 65 are closed due to high water.

at the indian creek gauge site in madison...the current reading is
8.33 feet and rising. There have been several reports of flooding at creekwood park...along mill road near both bradford creek and mill creek...and along indian springs road near providence.
* some locations that will experience flooding include...
Huntsville...madison...moores mill...meridianville...redstone arsenal...harvest and triana.
Additional rainfall amounts of up to one inch are possible in the warned area.

Tennessee river at whitesburg affecting madison...marshall and morgan counties
...forecast flooding increased from minor to moderate severity...
The flood warning continues for
the tennessee river at whitesburg.
* until further notice.
* at 7 pm tuesday the stage was 15.0 feet and rising.
* flood stage is 17.0 feet.
* moderate flooding is forecast.
* forecast...rise above flood stage after midnight tonight and crest near 20.1 feet on thursday morning. The river is then forecast to begin to slowly fall...but is expected to remain above flood stage until further notice.
* impact...at 21.0 feet...backwater causes flooding on redstone arsenal. Significant flooding is occurring on the morgan county side of the river with hundreds of acres and several homes and roads flooded.
* flood history...this crest compares to a previous crest of 19.5 feet on mar 11 2011.
