G-ville been very, very good to me.
In fact I don't think I'm even going to have to go to a bridge and witness a homicide this year. Yippie!
Although I do enjoy drowning the minnows, but do love tossing jigs on ultralight more. That and the piece and quiet. The place I'm going nearly everybody could care less about crappie.
I did cut those boards perfectly years ago to keep me in place at the bridge. Oh well, at least I don't have to get up at 2 a.m. to make sure I get a spot for when they start biting at dawn this year.
On a side note, does anyone know if that new dock has opened at South Sauty? And is the old one still usable as well at the campground?
On another side note. I used milk jugs, the gallon ones, with frozen water to keep them frisky Friday. I brought a couple dozen crappie home. They were all blacks, only a couple with the slightest hint of eggs. Just make sure you peel the labels off the milk jugs so they don't clog your livewell. The surface water temp went from 69 to 73 in the 5 hours I fished. Morning fog helped keep the bite on until 11 a.m. pretty strong. Sure it's going to be cooler this week, but if you don't use at least one gallon milk jug, they're gonna die. Hopefully some of the bass fishermen will head this warning for their tournament hauls in these little club tourneys that are really taking a toll on the bigmouths and stinking up the launches.
So there you have it. I've said too much - again.
