Was the tail of the tube a different color. The fish may have been grabbing the tail and not getting the hook. I'd look at color if the jig was two tone, if not down size by a 1/2 inch in length.
You going to be out Sat morning?
Was wondering if I'm doing something wrong, went out this evening for a few and had some hits but couldn't connect on any. Basically a tug on the rod and before I could get to it they were gone. Am I not setting the hook quick enough? Or is this something you run into on occasion? Was using a 1 1/2 inch tube and some baby shad bobby garlands and had the same results with both.

I hope i can.
I intend to and I'm hoping to bring some minnows, I know you wear them out on jigs but I sure am partial to the live stuff.
As far as the jigs I was using both were solid colors, one was white tube and the other was the key lime bobby garland.
