Not familiar right off where you are talking about. I do remember seeing a lot around the Hartselle area when I lived over that way I just cant remember where it was. I do know there use to be a bunch on I think it was 31 that goes through Hartselle. I think it was right near a body shop on the main road. I do not know who owns the land and if they would care or not.

You go south on U.S. 31 through Hartselle and it will be on the left side of the hwy between Hartselle and Falkville,all of that growing there is on the hwy right of way and is legal to get,at least that is what a State trooper told me one time when he checked me(he thought I was broke down)I get some every year to stick my garden and tomato plants with.
