That's what I'm talking about! Good memories
25 or so years ago my fishing partner introduced me to crappie fishing. took me to weiss along with 4 other boats, we traveled in packs back then. Woke up to high winds trees were bending over 2 of the 4 boats said they weren't getting out in that mess, we said we have drove 4 hrs were fishing, they said we'll clean everything u bring in and laughted. Fishing out of JR's was out, too rough, fishing partner said lets try the bubble hole no ramp then, had to go to lake shore and run that channel. after letting our boat anchors way out we finally got stopped on ledge. the boat blocked the wind just enough to read our corks, as all we did was cork and fly fish back then. The big fish wore us out we had a blast both boats catching fish, we came in early to find our fishing buddies still at JR's. we opened our live wells and said get started, everyone laughed, they took me to muffins where we all had great steaks a great end to a great day.

GOD loves fishermen, the earth is 75% water
When I was just a teenager, a friend of mine and his dad, who is originally from Alabama, used to take me fishing on Weiss in the spring. That was 25-30 years ago. It was amazing for sure, and I havent personally experienced anything like it since. We didn't do anything fancy, usually drifted in an aluminum john boat with the wind, pulling jigs under floats, or fished minnows under floats around stumps, etc.. You just didnt have to work that hard to catch fish back then.
My fondest memory was one warm spring day when the Dogwood trees were in full bloom. The wind was calm that day, so we just sat still on a stump flat. We stopped at the bait store on the way to the lake that morning and got 10 dozen minnows. We fished with two rods each, one rod with jigs under a float, the other rod with minnows, so we had a total of six rods out. We were completely out of minnows before noon, and went back to the store and got 10 dozen more. We were out of bait again by that afternoon. I have no idea how many fish we caught that day between the 3 of us, it was impossible to keep an accurate count. Non-stop action all day long, they just wouldn't quit. I can remember that you could close your eyes, cast backwards over your shoulder, and by the time you turned around to see where it landed, you would have a fish on your line... no joke. I've been hooked ever since...
