Good Luck you will need it.Weiss has been over fished and pimped out to make a buck, it's not fun to fish anymore.

The good part though is you don't have to fight the wake of all those pesky fishing boats out there anymore

The last several times I have been out I have seen less than 4 other boats the entire day fishing.

Someone was telling us a few weeks ago that the lake was being restocked on a regular basis trying to build the population back up. I'm not sure who is doing the stocking but they said they were dumping fish in every couple of weeks all around the lake.

Maybe it will get back to where it was one day.

Find some docks with a creek/river channel pretty close by......docks with 10ft or more of water under them are the best....shoot a southern pro stinger 2",with a red 1/24 head.....or 1/32 head......popsicle is the best stinger color...or throw a hot grub around the perimeter of those same docks....wally world or black/blue/chart in the hot grubs.....my catch/keeper ratio has been about 1:7...so you really have to stay after it all day

The Crappie on Wiess don't have a chance to get real big like they used too,it is what is sad bigger crappie produce more fish.Crappie should be able to retain it's on population with out help from men. It's great they do restock but is I see it they have no choice because of the fishing pressure on a over hyped lake.
You would have turn the clock back 20 + years to get Wiess back to the way it once was.Just to much pressure put on this lake and such a short time.

Last count I had there were 46 guides on Weiss. I know a few that are "Fishermen", but alot of them just follow the ones to their spots & fish them out. It's all about the money now-a-days !

It's all about the cash on Weiss.160 mile round trip from Huntsville cost.To far to go to catch stock 10 inch fish. When you were used to catching 12to14 inch on regular bases.Keeping 10 inches is a waste of time in money.

    Red face

Kyrick... You can forget getting positive reports even if the fishing is great on here. You and I are from the wrong state... But when the Bama boys come to KY to hunt they'll want to buddy up.
