Default Places to get minnows around Cullman???

Looking for a bait shop that sells minnows in central to north Cullman county. I'm going to try to start fishing Lake Catoma and Forest Ingram and would like to at least know that I can use minnows if I want to but I honestly don't know of a place that sells them except for down close to Smith Lake. Anybody know of a place? TIA

I don't know for sure but I would bet that Campus tackle shop would sell them. They are located by Lake George on Eva road. Just turn on Eva road right off 157 and go about 2 miles and they will be a little white tackle shop on right.. It may be called Campus Grocery... cant remember..

I haven't been there in a while so I'm not sure either. A friend said he saw someone come out with what he thought was a minnow bucket, but I know last time I was there they didn't sell them. I'll give them a call but other than Kampis and Mary Carter's, I'm not sure of any other places to even call. Thanks though.

You can also try Todd's tackle shop out 278 towards Holly Pond. They may sell them but if none of them do Whitlocks may be your best bet...

Thanks for the replies guys. Got some at the shop on 31 in Vinemont. Went to Forest Ingram yesterday as well and caught about 10-12 crappie as well as a few blue gill. All the crappie were very small though...probably 8". I was using a 1/8 oz chartreuse roadrunner with a white/emerald grub. My buddy used a medium sized black and yellow beetle spin. I didn't catch anything off of the minnows.

I had the same thing happen the other day. Had 2 rods out rigged with live minnows and not a hit. Threw out a bug-like fly and caught one right away. I don't get these fish sometimes.........

on most occasions I catch 100 to one on a jig over a minnow. Sometimes I have caught my limit on a jig right where I had a minnow at and never get a bite on the minnow.

I think the minnows just simply don't live long enough, or don't move enough. The jig seems to entice them more......
