I fished from short cut bridge up today and only crappie that I found was still in the channel in 14' of water! I don't really know what was happening on lower end? I tried a few slough's with no luck.
Going trolling on Saturday. First time I've got to fish in over a year. Which area should I try...upper lake or lower lake?

An ungrateful man is like hog under a tree eating acorns, but never looking up to see where they come from!
Even though its warmed up I believe the fish haven't left river channel yet, trolling trotters, riverside or any of these will be a bust probably. Slow trolling the river ledges will be best bet for now.
I fished Mud Creek area yesterday (Thursday, 2/17). I was slow-trolling jigs under floats, and I do mean slow. Caught 15-20 short fish, and 3 decent keepers. All fish I caught were 6-8' deep in the old creek channel. I tried some shallower, but no luck. Water temp was 49 in the morning, and climbed to 53 during the day. Not a great day by any means, but not bad for the middle of Febuary I suppose. It was a beautiful day on the lake for sure....
