What time of day?

When is the best time of day to fish for crappie during the pre-spawn and post-spawn? Do the fish bite as well during the middle of the day or is early mornings or late evenings better?

I just started crappie fishing last year. The best luck I've had was before noon.

I have always had better luck in the mornings and evenings, but evenings seem to be the better of the two. Don't stay home because it's late morning though. I usually catch fish off and on all day, if they bite at all.
