    Default Jacks below Guntersville Dam?

I've heard one or two reports that some jacks have started to show below the dam. Just wondering if anyone out there is willing to share that info, or any other place they're starting to pick a few up?:o I fish from the bank so it usually takes a month or so of guys from the boats catching them regularly before I have been able to catch any from the bank in the past. It's a great treat to catch one of those toothy buggers while crappie fishing from the bank! Thanks in advance for any reports.

I have not fished below dam but did fish for 3 hours on 10/16 at painted bluff. Did not pick up any sauger. Water was fairly muddy and they were running water. May be just a tad early. My go to time frame starts after xmas. Will keep you updated.

Went early sunady morning in the fog and managed to land a few smaller craps and one jack near the dam. Not sure on a exact location because I could barely see the other end of the boat.

Good luck guys 4 hours below Pickwick dam yesterday not a Sauger. Did land 15 drum on a Richard Willams 7 1/2ft crappie rod though. LOL Man those drum 5 to 15 lbs were fun on 4 lb line.. Water temp was 60.5 degrees.
I for the most part catch enough Sauger to eat this time of year. Not many but most years last week in Oct I can come up with 3 or 4 nice keepers now. Then mid Nov its time to have fun.
I look for gravel on the banks with deep wager near it. Cast 1/8th oz grubs up in shallow water, most fish come out of 3ft or less water for me this time of year. Water temp above 55 degrees. Let it fall below that and they move on down to 15 to 25ft for us.
Do a search theres a site just for Sauger with info on them.

Thanks guys. I thought the water was about right for a few to be showing. Seems with all the high water fish should be moved up a little earlier than usual this year. That's my theory anyway.:o

Man Mighty, that was a bummer breaking off at the bank.

Default Wondering eyes want to know!

Hello guys just thought I would jump in here and ask you where do you go exactly and what methods are you using for the jacks? I have lived in Huntsville for 5 years know and I am having Walleye withdrawls. I am orginally from Denver and walleyes are all I fished for there. I have been talking to the guys on the Chanttanooga Forum and I know about Tims Ford - Normandy - Center Hill and I will be fishing those this winter, but I still want something a little closer. Now I know I am a foreignor but at least my wife is a native of the Shoals area so that should help me a little bit in that area.
