    Default neeley henry

Back in the spring a lot of people were saying that neeley henry was much better than weiss. So, I'm thinking of trying neeley out this spring. I usually stay at Chestnut Bay. What is the closest ramp to that resort? Can anyone tell me about canoe creek????? Heard that was a good ramp and a good place to fish..... Where can I get a lake map?? Any help or advice would be appreciated.

you should be able to get a lake map at most bait shops around north al. If you have a lowrance gps unit you can download a free map from there web site. If you do go study the map its a pretty hairy lake. I havnt fished there in the spring so i cant help you there

i have heard from several guys that they are catching lots of fish on neely henry . but i think that they are catching lots of small fish to get a keeper. it still seems like the larger fish are on weiss.

I fished Canoe Creek about two weeks ago, caught abunch but they weren that big. Only had 15 keepers for the day. I was shooting docks, with a 1/48 jig head and a blue/black w/ chatruese tail grub. its a great place in the spring. public ramp there also.

Sam, Call Terry Whaley. He guides on Weiss and Neely Henry.

We stayed at Chestnut bay drove to Neely Henry, it was about 1 hour drive. We just about got in trouble with the man when we brought 9 inch fish from Neely and cleaned them at Chestnut Bay cleaning station. He told me I was on Weiss now and it has a 10 inch size limit. Next time we fish Neely the fish I bring back to Chestnut Bay will be 10 inches.

    Default Neely today

I was sure the crappie would be shallow today, with water temp @ 67 degrees. However, most of our Coosa River Crappie Club teams fished the mail river ledges and creek mouths 10 to 24 ft. deep and did well. We had 3 teams with 10 lb. plus - 7 fish limits, and big fish was 2.44.

Congratulations to Darla and Rodger ...

    Default nearest ramp

Nearest ramp would be yellow creek, about a mile from chestnut resort.

Default Closest Neely Henry ramp from Weiss

From Weiss Lake, the closest Neely henry ramp will be the City Docks at Gadsden. A little tricky to get to since it moved a few yrs. ago, but you can see ramp accross Coosa river on your left, as you come into Gadsden on US Hwy 411 south, at the big overhead bridges. About 25 miles from Leesburg.
