Default How to price handyman jobs

So I have become quite the little handyman lately. (well not little, about 235 lol) I have been doing a little bit of this and a little bit of that. I have been pressure washing, mowing, making projects, light remodeling, trim work, built a wheelchair ramp, etc. I do not really know how to price things. I try to be fair but I do not want to cut myself short for the hard work and time either. Is there a general rule on light construction type jobs such as pricing the job related to the cost of materials or anything like that? A lot of the jobs I have done the people actually paid me more than what I charged for the job. That tells me they think I did good work or I was a little too fair with my price, or a little bit of both. For example I built a W/C ramp for a guy and charged $175. He paid me $200. Here is a picture of it during the build process.

That looks like a 500-600 job plus materials, to me.
If it was me I would track my time/materials.
Your surely worth 30-50 an hour?
Maybe Haulin Ash will chime in, he will have a better idea.
Just general thoughts that popped into my head.

depends on the who what and where for sure , some pockets run deep and some not so much .
we built a 12 x 14 addition on our house and the framer charged me 1,500 to build it and "dry it in" , took him one day .
I supplied materials and a bit of help in the labor dept.
that same job by the another "framer" would have been higher for sure , of course it was 5 years ago , but even then it was a deal .
had one that is kinda family quote me 2,500 for the job , it is one of those things .
my gate at my place in the country was quoted at 3,500 to 5,000 and I got a guy to do it for 1,000.
I would tend to think 25 an hour is around a min. per hour on what you should charge , unless you are licensed in some of the construction type areas .

Nice ramp job. When I do occasional work for folks I just charge what my heart tells me for my time and the customer pays for materials. Our area is poor so my charges are 10-15 bucks an hr. Many times I work for free as an extension of God’s hands.

Thank you. I thought I did pretty good for my first one and never doing anything like it before. We think a lot alike. I am out to make a little money for my time and a little side work but not out to make a living or overcharge. I just want a low end fair pay. I did as you said and went with my heart and charged him less than most would. He is on a fixed income. Sometimes I do some work for free too.
