Praying for his healing. He is definitely mentally tough. That will get him a lot further in life than football.
So sorry about your son's injury. Sounds like he was making real progress, though. He'll always remember his old football injury when he's telling his grandkids about his high school days. Running around on a broken leg shows real courage and toughness!
My son graduated in '18 and was lucky, he played football from 3rd grade to his senior year and rarely came off the field. He was a gamer and absolutely loved contact and hard hitting. He was a bully on the field. He broke his pinky finger in the final playoff game of his freshman year and had several bumps & bruises over the years, but he was never "injured" to a serious extent. He had several "timid" teammates throughout his career and some quit, while others stuck with it. He always said that he respected the timid kids who stuck with it because it showed that even though they were scared, they hung in there and were part of the team. My son was team captain his junior & senior years and was well thought of by his teammates, coaches, and teachers.
Tell your son that Big Papa John John, the former Harmony Grove Hornets' team captain, would applaud his effort. Hope he's back on the field real soon.
