Central Alabama Crappie Club Minutes12/10/15
Meeting opened at 7:05 PM at the Hampton Inn, Prattville AL
Introduction
-Dan opened the meeting by welcoming everyone to the second meeting ofthe new CACC crappie club. He stated that the main objective of the meeting wasto finalize all club organization documentations to include He briefed themembership that we will finish getting everything finalized tonight to facilitateCACC to apply for and become a non-for-profit club. He also highlighted that our club goals areto
have fun, learn more, walk away friends. You don’t have to feel like you need to fishtournaments. The mission statement forthe club is in the club’s Articles of Organization.

Dan also informed the members that:
-Alicia will pass around member information sheet. He asked the club members to check their informationand initial if it was correct. If notcorrect then note the correction(s) on the document.
-A person can become a member at any time.
-We will follow Robert’s rules. Dan explained the meeting format.
-In the future, we can meet here at the Hampton Inn. Anita Mays is graciously providing thefacility for free.

Agenda
-Review Minutes. Members decidednot to have them read. Dan stated thatwe used the minutes from the last meeting to develop the other documents. Past Minutes (from 12/3/15) were adopted.

-Tournament Schedule:
-We can addtournaments later but they will not affect the points race.
-We have dates andwaters set but not when and where. Wewill vote on that tonight.
-March 19th-Lake Martin adopted
-June 11th-AL River Jones Bluff adopted
-August 13th-AL River Camden adopted
-October 8th-Jordan/Mitchell Lakes adopted
-Championship willbe decided by board members at the beginning of the year

-Dan reviewed theentry fees process.
-Teams- Dan reviewedparagraph “B” in detail. Dan warned club members about obtaining liabilityinsurance because anglers will be signing a liability waver.
-Steve Brown askedfor clarification on the 15 year olds and under who are not related.
-Dan reviewed paragraph“F” in detail on points race and changing partners.
-Angler of year
-Safety
-Weigh-Ins-You canhave other fish in the boat live well but when you come to weigh-in only bring7. We do not want to see the extra fish.
-Sportsmanship
-Violations-Theclub is going to pay for a lie detector test for 1st place winnersand protesters. A protest committee willbe formed for each tournament and this committee will be determined by theboard and president.
-The tournament rules will remain the same throughout the year.
-Club members adopted these rules.

-Articles of Organization of CACC
- This is the shortform of the By-Laws and used for incorporation of our club. The most important is Article III. Dan asked the club members to review.
-Club members adopted these articles of incorporation.
-By-Laws
-Dan requested review of Paragraph section 2.1regarding what a “Member” entails.
-Membership beginsupon payment. Must have it in and payed on time (November 1st) oryou will be cut off from the member benefits.
-Dan clarified thatthe tournament fees are non-refundable and you must have them in 24 hours beforethe tournament starts.
-Board of Directors-right now we have 6 (# can expand). Atleast 2 board members will rotate off each year.
-There are not anyperks or compensation for being a board member or officer. All officers and board members can fish.
-Club Members adopted the By-Laws.

-Dan explained that the board members will sign appropriate documentsand Alicia will open a bank account. Alicia will give a financial report during each meeting.
-Dan will be reviewing sponsor applications. All sponsors will be treated the same andthere will be different levels of sponsorship.
-There will be national and local sponsors.
-Dan expressed that we are here to guide and mentor. We can get our family involved whencatfishing and panfishing. We can makeCrappie fishing grow locally and nationally.
-Jonathan expressed his appreciation for everyone making thesemeetings. Once the monthly meetings getgoing we will make the meeting even more worthwhile. He expressed that we can’t satisfyeveryone. Please come and support whatwe have now and then we can grow from where we are now. We saw the need for a local club whenCrappiemaster’s came through and there was no local support. We canshare techniques. This club’s membershipnumbers have already exceeded our expectations.
-Jonathan spoke on “Crappie Now.” and how it helped him learn new techniques. It is free resource, CrappieNow.com.
-We will have links to our club on Crappie.com.
-Next meeting will be in February.
