Today, 11:22 AMAfter reading all the responses, I remember Albert saying he would use a small hammer and flatten out the quill before tying them. I wish I had one to show but I don’t. I dissected one years ago (40 or so lol) but can’t recall what I found.9 replies | 176 view(s)

Today, 10:17 AMCane Pole replied to a thread Sad that they put all this foam (sponge) in boats these days. in Main Crappie Fishing ForumMy Jon boat stunk from wet foam. I removed the foam. The boat is somewhat more noiseier but it doesn't stink and probably 100 pounds lighter. The foam is a bs regulation. I have no intention of sinking the boat. None of my previous jon boats had any foam. Sent from my SM-A526U1 using Crappie.com mobile app19 replies | 684 view(s)

Today, 10:05 AMJamesdean replied to a thread Sad that they put all this foam (sponge) in boats these days. in Main Crappie Fishing ForumFrom what I read on line, ( they're never wrong, right???), what happens with the closed cell foam, it gets compromised by a puncture, scratch, or some way for a bit of water to enter. In cold weather it freezes, and expands, making more cells compromised, and an area for more water. And this continues till it is replaced. Sorta makes sense to me...19 replies | 684 view(s)

While Night Fishing or During Heavy Fogs. in North CarolinaI always launch before it's dark and return back slowly to the ramp after dark. Keeping an air horn ready also helps to alert others. A bow search light is necessary in my opinion too.15 replies | 906 view(s)

Today, 09:14 AMI also have been fishing with double 1/48's or double or single 1/32's and have caught most all fish in 10 ft water or less this spring. At what point of the year do you fish water deeper than 12' or run your jigs deeper than that depth? My plan was to run 1/16 and 1/32 if I needed a little more depth.410 replies | 372025 view(s)
