Pretty cool. That’s a good one.
Thought this might be of interest to some .
Georgia state record rock bass .
1 lb, 0 oz (10 13/16-inches) fish on April 6 on South Chickamauga Creek. This catch will be the first rock bass state record recognized.
Article didn’t say what he caught it on .
The fisherman said he’d probably caught over 600 rock bass but nothing this size .
Took his kayak out and caught the fish on his second cast , so I’m guessing some kind of lure .

I am very surprised they do not grow bigger down south, up north in Minnesota and Wisconsin they regularly get to 12"+ and are a riot to catch. Impossible to clean without a hacksaw, but really fun to target on ultralight gear. Poor mans small mouth they are often called, they bite and fight like a smallie but you can catch them on anything. It's actually a chore to avoid them some days!
I guess its one of the rare times that a fish grows bigger in the north?

I think the farther south , the smaller they get .
Like yellow perch .
Our state record yellow perch is 2 lb, 9 oz (16 inch) caught last year in north Ga.
I rarely catch one 10”

Some kind of nice fish.
Creativity is just intelligence fooling around
Just saw that in the email they sent out really nice catch. Cool fish to go in the record book for IMO.

Speaking of records .
I got a notice of this one .
This 40# striper is the new LAKE record for the lake my fishing buddy and I most frequent.
Just goes to show what’s swimming around out there that could potentially grab one of my panfish while I’m trying to get it in on my Ultralight outfits .
Would be a short but exciting battle !
I couldn’t edit the guys identity out without removing part of the fish , so I just marked out his face .
I wouldn’t want people spreading my image without my permission.
