Depends on the waters you frequent. I’ve never caught a limit (25) on my home lake, but also don’t see a problem with someone doing so. As much as I resist government control politically, I feel the wardens do a good job of putting a fair limit number out there in most cases.
For every sucker like me lucky to get 5-10 fish there is a crappie master like Ketchn that could limit with his eyes closed. I believe we as a fishing population balance ourselves out, generally speaking.
That said, some folks are just plain dangerous around water and can hammer em day in and out. More surveys need to be done more frequently on public waters to monitor populations. Waterfowl hunting allegedly is suffering from over harvesting as well. I’m too new at it and not a good enough shot to say whether that’s true.
