There is a lot more lodging in this area especially in the earlier parts of spring as most places on wolf river do not open until April. Are both east and west arms about the same for crappie fishing. I do a lot of spider rigging but like to cork and jig fish as well. I know lake needs to be a lot higher than it is now looking at map. Mother nature will make that call for me. Any help appreciated.
I fish the Obey out of Eastport several times a year, a group of us rent a big cabin and fish for a solid week in early April. Obey is shallow and very scenic I love it. We usually fish from East Port to Sunset which is all good crappie water. If you plan on March, call down to the new owners of East Port Marina and ask about the water depth, there ramp is in shallow water, but I believe you could launch anytime just might have to troll out to deeper water. You will catch white, black and stripe nose. Cabins at East Port are nice or pm me if your looking for a vrbo type place, I have a friend that has a great newer modular home that he rents out.
