If the hp is right for the boat and it runs good. Go for it. Honda makes a good product.
I am putting together a boat to fish small oxbows and shallow rivers that hold good crappie.
I presently own 19.5 ft. G3 with a 2006 115 Yamaha 4 stroke. Big river and lake fishing.
This that I am rigging is older Duracraft 16 foot pan fish special model.
Which brings me to this question. What is you alls opinion on Honda 4 stroke motors? The one I am looking at is an older 2007 model very low hours and looks new. Been on house boat only moving around in fresh water Mari it’s entire life.

They have a reputation for being great motors for a reason.
The love for fishing is one of the best gifts you can pass along
If the price is right and it will move the boat adequately I would say go for it. Have you been able to run it? Perhaps talked it to a reputable marine dealer to have it checked for peac of mind. JM2C

Thank you all as I know I sent it late. In years past old two strokes which I still own one or two. Johnson was the only way to go for me. In four strokes I have had better luck out of Yamaha.

Honda makes great motors in my opinion.
Honda`s have a slid reputation not the most powerful but dependable.
I have been looking for a aluminum flat boat for fishing small rivers and back waters of the Mississippi river, For this type of fishing I am looking at Mud Motors as we have tons of weeds and most rivers are very shallow where an outboard would not fair well and too weedy for a jet drive..

My neighbor has a 90hp honda. He has had issues with it, but my neighbor also has issues.
