I’m funny about covers. But some just knock it out of the park

For the last 3-4 decades I've been more about a song than a particular group. Sometimes when I'm just messin' around on the WWW and in no hurry to find something, post something, or learn something, I'll pull up Youtube and drop in a band or song. And while that's playing I'll run down the list of songs/artists that show up and proceed to spend a half hour or so just revisiting songs or checking out something that looks interesting. I might jump from Nirvana to Green Day to Soundgarden to Nine Inch Nails to David Bowie to Red Hot Chili Peppers to Marilyn Manson to Korn to R.E.M. to Stone Temple Pilots to Smashing Pumpkins to Pearl Jam to Creed to Staind ... and might even throw in some Talking Heads or Enigma for good measure.![]()

I am with you guys. Being a junk guitar player I'm all over the place with my music. My wife can't understand how I can go from classic country to heavy metal and never miss a beat. All of our boys play and their taste differ, so I hear all types of music. My grandson is trying to convert me to rap right now. I can't make myself like it but I don't discourage his taste in music. I have really gotten into new-grass music like Billy Strings, Molly Tuttle, and Sierra Hull. If you get a chance check out Mae Estes a talented singer that just was on the Opry. Just saw a group that had Tesla's old guitar player Tommy Skeoch called Resist and Bite. They were awesome live. My playlist usually falls back to The Allman Brothers or Bob Seger and classic rock. Through the years I've come to like it all.
The cool part about this thread... No wrong answer or bad advice. Plus, I like learning about folks through their taste in music. Who would have thought CrappyPappy might be a headbanger. LOL

I occasionally DVR concerts off of AXS TV ... watched Stone Temple Pilots earlier this afternoon.
Bands/Artists I've seen live in concert :
The Rolling Stones
*Aerosmith/Head East/??
*ZZ Top
The Young Rascals
Kenny Rogers/Crystal Gail
(*other bands were on the ticket with these bands, but I don't remember who they were)
I really wish I could enjoy live shows. Several acts that I really like have came through Tupelo lately.
But, my love of music just can’t overcome my dislike of crowds of people. And, I’ve turned into a tightwad too. Man, tickets are $$$
