I think they would end up a purple color depending on how opaque the purple is. They might be slightly brighter or darker depending on what color the purple is on top of. Should be easy enough to do a test batch and see results.
Suppose I have several jigs painted various colors; orange, blue, chartreuse, etc. They are all just basic paint, nothing fancy. But also suppose that I need some Purple jig heads. Can I just heat the already-painted ones, dip them in the Purple powder paint, bake them. Will they be Purple or a mix of purple and whatever other color? If they won't turn out Purple, is there an easy way to get the old paint off and get back to an unpainted lead jig head? Thanks GF

You can strip off powder paint with acetone. Be aware it will also remove lacquer coating on hooks too.

I suggest you paint a chartreuse jig with the june bug and don't heat it too long or the paint will blister or bubble. Chartreuse/purple is a killer combo for crappie and bass. I wouldn't mess with acetone.

I don't think I would mess with the acetone either. Like Jim suggested try the chartreuse and june bug color combo.

In my opinion,,, it’s just not worth the worry,,, just get a fresh jig and start again,,,the problem comes with the paint under you reheat tends to blister and turn to crap,,,,just my thoughts on it,,,,if your just trying to save lead,,, throw it back into the heating pot, hook, paint and all, then repaint,,,,just don’t do that a lot or it will start making your lead really funky and it won’t our well.
