I've seen people run ropes from their dock to the swim platform but never a motion activated sprinkler to keep riff raff away. You fished there so apparently it doesn't work.
I forgot a humorous moment:
Was trolling past a boat lift/dock and suddenly a sprinkler came on aimed and following me, motion activated.
I'm not sure if it's purpose is to dissuade fishing near their dock or to deter geese. I'm leaning towards fishing deterrent, getting wet wouldn't seem to me to bother geese.
So I did what any good citizen would do...parked just outside of sprinkler range casting and let it run for 10 minutes smiling at the cottage the entire time.

The older I get the more I realize the therapeutic benefits of fishing
