It's not the numbers or the size, it's the time spent on the water!skeetbum thanked you for this post
Nice pictures of some colorful fish.
Would you describe the rod and reel setup in the first picture.
Tks.

Sure, and thanks for asking. It’s a 6’ Fenwick HMX blank that I built a couple of months ago. The blank is rated for 2-6 lb test and I think it’s a fast action. I’d have to do some research if you wanted the components list. I dry built it and hung the reel on it to insure the proper balance. The reel is a Shimano Soare bb 500spg that does well with some 5lb braid. My favorite jig comes out of a 1/32 do it pro mold and with the #8 hook weighs 1/43oz. And odd number but that’s what it comes out. Over a few months I built a 5’6”, 6’, and a 6’6”. All Fenwick, all 2-6 lb rated. The 5’6” is probably my favorite because I fish tight quarters a lot. Pm me if you need further details, I’ll be glad to help.
The fifth picture shows the 6’6” and the sixth pic shows the 5’6”. I kept them as light as I could within reason.

Enjoy reading all of your outings. Keep them coming…. Life is Too Short Not To Enjoy Yours or Others Enjoyment.
Heading to Astor July 17-20, knowing the weather will be hot, just hoping the big bluegill & Shellcrackers
will be there to corporate for some fun & adventure. Really enjoy that area.
Keep a few, put back the rest…

Baknaction , where’s Astor ?
I see you’re fairly close to lake Seminole .
Neat , I’ve always wanted to get down there when the shellcrackers are bedding.

Astor, Fl. Is on the St John’s River between Gainesville, Fl. and Daytona Beach, Fl.
We fish the River, South part of Lake George, all of Dexter Lake and Woodruff.
Beautiful part of our country is that neck of the woods.
Lake Seminole, particularly the Spring Creek area is a good area for big bluegills and Shellcrackers.
Best place to launch your boat will be at state owned Reynolds’s Landing, known by the locals as Big Jim’s Landing.
Be aware, the lake is full of tree tops and stumps, so run only in the marked channel.
