    We liked seeing the Texas Spiny lizards when we lived in San Antonio. We have their cousins here - Eastern Fence Lizards. They’re a bit more skittish, and don’t let us get as close for pics.

    yepppers direct relatives , the texas version is pretty skittish , she went around the tree several times and I employed the ole squirrel hunting technique of ease around the tree with my wife and daughter to get her to run around the tree in front of me....you see in the world of wildlife it is pretty cool to employ some of them old school tricks to get them to cooperate ....
    on a side note ....ones ball cap tossed around the backside of the tree when one is alone works well too ....just saying
