Danny, these were made using one spare tire carrier for the riser step. I added a 1" GRC pipe for the grab pole. Less than a hundred bucks for complete setup. It will still allow for tongue fold back.
Best have them welded to the trailer frame !! Otherwise ... someday you may come back to "no steps"

Yes they are very safe. I weight around 210 and jumped up and down on them and cant move them. The safety aspect in my opinion is the grab pole, as I use it going on and grab hold of it getting off.
I really need to do something like this!

Sorry Danny for late response, sorry you got to at pic sideways ???. Don't get to check very often. I drilled the top and bottom of the back plate of the tire carrier and used 1/2" bolts, keep in mind the pole is galvanized rigid conduit.
