I like that thought Mitch. The sienna isn’t a very high end reel, but works well anyway. When bushings get gummed up there’s no salvation but a thorough cleaning as described above. I also use Super Lube pinpoint oiler and their grease on most everything that moves. Grease is clear silicone and shows when it’s getting dirty and needing a change. Also resistant to salt water, as in sweat. I’ve used it on all my guns and my wipe down rag for them for over 30 years, not a spot of rust since. Very good stuff. I have a couple of Diawa sweepfire reels that I need to clean and loosen back up. A man could learn something here.

I hate to say it but that’s pretty much my plan. I’m all thumbs. That said, everything I can get at without opening the case gets regular care with lube. I also like the reel butter products.

4 reels of mine plus a baitcaster of my sons plus earings of my daughters. Going pretty good. The two reels that started this adventure were pflueger xt extreme and needed to try to save them. But I'm definitely about new stuff

There’s Reel Butter oil and Reel Butter grease. The oil goes in the bearings and light grease on the gears.
