Heading there from Alabama mid March. Never been to that area. Staying at the park, but will have a boat and looking to check out the bayous in the local Atchafalaya area.

I've had a good bit of luck February - April there. I usually fish the pits along the levee rd. It has some areas that are filled with stumps. Pic one shows an overview... the greeg areas are where i usually have luck. The red and orange areas, I zoomed in to show... Be careful. Those are full of huge stumps right below the water. Good for fishing, not for lower units. Pic 2, the water drops from 3-4 foot in the stump field to 7-8 foot along the rd. Find those stumps along the edge and fish them. Pic 3, same. lot of stumps and laydowns in that area.
