I use loop knots ONLY on my double jig rigs for Livescope flippin' ... and most times just for the upper jig. I use a Improved Clinch knot for the lower jig, so that the lower jig's loop doesn't hang on the brush, and I keep the upper jig's loop well away from the brush. If I need to get a jig DOWN IN the brush I switch to my secondary rod, which has a weedless jighead tied on.
Do you make your own weedless jig heads? Or premade ones? Thanks for the reply and checking out the video. Sounds like you have a good fast way of tying that works good.

I may be just too lazy to learn other ways. still a good video
Lol thanks for watching and taking the time to share your thoughts on it. If this way of tying works good for you nothing wrong with staying tried and true.

I buy the weedless jigheads custom made. 1/16oz ballhead w/#2 Aberdeen hook or 1/32oz ballhead w/#2 Aberdeen hook. (I like the bigger hook in the event I want to use a thick plastic body, plus they're a little bit stouter than a #4 Aberdeen)

I switch between the uni and loop knot. I originally preferred the uni because of how much line strength you retain compared to all the other knots. I do like the freedom a loop knot gives the jig head for presentation purposes and I’ve built a lot of confidence in fishing with the loop knot so I may stay with it for a while!

Yeah the uni is an excellent knot to tie. I know for me I used to tie the palomar knot a lot for bass fishing and will still use it occasionally but once I started getting serious with catching crappie the loop knot became my go to knot due to the level of freedom it gives the jig head. I’ve been using it for the past year with my dock shooting and I will say the only thing you gotta watch for is if the jig head eye isn’t completely cinched if there is a gap I have had it slip on me. So I make it a practice to cinch it with my pliers just to make sure but other than that it has held up good with some slab crappie.

Thanks for your input and checking out the video it helps me be patient in between trips to share the little knowledge I have of this great sport.

Glad to know I am not the only one that has to watch for eye not being closed.

Yes sir your not alone. Lost a couple good ones with the knot still perfectly tied. That’s when I realized the eye on some of my jig heads being open just enough to lose it.

The Moondog Bait Company produces a variety of panfish baits.
And they have also produced several videos of different knots they recommend.
One of them is a loop knot tied the same way as this video shows it being tied.
Ive used it and it works as well for me as the 3 turn surgeons knot does.
Its simply a matter of what we get more comfortable with tying in my opinion.
I do find that i can tie this loop knot with less wasted line than when i tie the 3 turn surgeons knot.
