Never have been able to fish with gloves. I have some of the catalytic hand warmers. They will thaw your hands out pretty quick.
Someone mentioned gloves in a post so now I'm wondering if anyone has a recommendation for a good pair of gloves that will keep your hands dry and warm during the cold months that will also allow you to bait a minnow on a hook or take a fish off the hook. A thin tight fitting pair of rubber gloves might be the best so you can still cast your lines out with the gloves on. Whatcha say??????

Butch, don't have a perfect solution for fishing gloves...don't know if one even exists. With that being said, I use fingerless gloves as they offer some protection from the air and allow me to tie tackle etc.

I'm a lefty, so I always slide the left glove off and do what needs to be done and put it back on. I'd bet there's a reasonable solution someone has come up with, we just don't know it yet.....
The fingerless option probably is the only one that gives you a good "feel" for what you're doing.
During cooler weather I usually have a couple pairs of jersey gloves with me but it doesnt usually take very long before I get one pair wet. Theyre mostly for the boat ride. I keep the other dry pair (one each) in each pocket to warm my fingers.

Check Duluth trading out. I had a pair of windproof and waterproof gloves from them, and they lasted 9 years. Duluth stopped making those type of gloves. I have another pair now, but I don't like them as much due to the size and material used. I had to take them off to bait minnows with bare hand but drying your hand with a towel and then put hands back in the gloves was still good and warm. Good luck finding some you like.

i don't remember ever using them for fishin but I had some mittens with a slot cut in the middle so you just fold your fingers down and flip um out that slot so all you would have to get wet was the thumb. worked great hunting.

I've got a good wool flip over the fingers type of glove/mittens. I use those for the first run of the morning. My son gave me some rechargeable electric hand warmers muddy brand I believe. I used them Monday and got 6 hrs off of the charge. I really like those.

I second the rechargeable hand warmers. They heat up in a few seconds and 3 heat levels. I turn them off when not holding them. I’ve quit using gloves since I got them.
