Been using the stainless Fas-snap with no issues .Started using them for fast change while trolling jigs for crappie . Single pole with them all the time as well .
With cold weather arriving this week , my fingers remind me how difficult it is to retie for every lure change .
I’ve been using a small snap with a tiny size 12 swivel about a foot above for fishing hardbaits and the fish don’t seem to mind . Makes it easier to change baits.
I’m thinking of using the same rod with a 1/64 Trout Magnet jighead and plastic baits .
Will save a walk back to the vehicle to change rods too.
Never used soft plastics with a snap but usually tie with a loop knot .
Anybody find any reduction in bites using snaps?
I will be trying it out next chance I get and will report back how it goes .

I use them as well in all my fishing methods. Hasn’t made a difference IMHO.

The fish do t seem to mind but my take is they are better in open water. I fish in the trash and the tip of the wire on the fas snaps was kinda grabby and caused me some issues. I used them when I trolled cranks and they worked very well. I found the black ones o. Clearance somewhere so I have a near lifetime supply.

I been wondering about this also, so I’m glad somebody asked. I was wanting use a snap for two reasons: 1. The cold as mentioned. My fingers are stiffer than they used to be. 2. Just the speed of changing.
I am trying to downsize/simplify my fishing and try carrying 2 or 3 rods instead as many as I used to carry and thought the snap would help me change baits quicker. But as mentioned I was worried about the gills seeing the snap as something extra.
I will be trying this next week when I get my new boat. Will let you know what happens.

Tried it yesterday for about thirty minutes.
Sure made changing baits a lot easier as the wind was blowing pretty good with the temperature in the mid 40’s .
Going to try to get at it again this evening if I can get away.
