nice fish
Some years back, the lake got an infestation of large 1' in diam. lily pads. A few days ago they produced nearly 40 fish in just a few hours fishing pockets and channels using a variety of small soft plastics.
Too bad the non-native plant is so invasive and spreading fast with stems reaching 7'. Harvesters will do little and they grow too thick for any boat to pass through.
Nice variety of species !

BTW, the rounded tail lures were formed by cutting off the tails from small tubes and melting them to grub bodies. The air-filled tails had a unique action vs the solid plastic tails usually attached.
This is a shot of the huge field of pads not present at all 8 years ago. An ecological disaster if you ask me considering the lack of aeration under pads so closely packed together. I looked it up.
Looks like a great day and a big assortment.
Nice looking catches !
Nice!! Reminds me of Whitey Outlaw on Santee Cooper talking how he drives up on it (motor not in grasses) and puts jigs in between the grasses.
But what is the first, third and last fish?

The first and last fish are white perch; the third is a yellow perch. Rarely do they get to over 13" in this lake, same for crappy. The small size doesn't make sense since it is a private lake where few anglers keep fish. But what is the first, third and last fish?
