I rode back there yesterday just looking around. Wasn’t sure how far it was to the water. Came back to that other spot and fished it a while. Didn’t do any good.

I fished the Slough under I-65 this morning from daylight till lunch time. Had to park at the gate and use my cart to get my kayak down to the slough. I haven't fished this area in several years and thought I'd made a mistake. The water was the lowest I've ever seen it with water only 12 to 15 inches at the deepest. I started dragging jigs with four poles only about 6 to 8 inches under the surface. Surprisingly I found some huge Crappie. I returned a couple dozen that were 13 to 14 inches, several Catfish and a Bass near 6 pounds (broke my jig pole ). Best bait was a 1" slider on a 1/32oz jig head. All fish retuned.

alexava,
The water is crazy low, but it was as good as it used to be when we fished it years ago!

You might want to wait a week for all those I tossed back today to get over their sore mouth!
