Wish we could get the longears stocked in this part of the country, Ketchn. They sure are pretty. Though i'll doubt they can survive or even thrive in these extreme desert environment. Nice photos as always!

never heard of or seen them stocked anywhere , but they can get pretty fair size in some spots and there is NOT a tougher sunfish out there , they can handle desert heat for sure , they are the hardiest of the sunfish species and we used to argue quite often who got to use the last one in the livewell when we hit the stripers , they would often come up on the line above the striper when we landed it still alive and wanting to go back down for a second try .....

not in downtown ft worth , the river is off limits for consumption according to the fisheries folks , it has warnings about it and from what I hear from the tpw folks the local yard runoff and street runoff has the fish in the river full of a zillion different chemicals .
he once told me that they had so many things in them it was almost impossible to list all of them as chemicals of concern.....
