Really beautiful weather and very light wind slightly from the north . A bit hot and sunny and humid ,but to be sure just a lovely afternoon for deer watching and ketchn fish.
The mission was to ketch and keep a herd od eaters in whatever species bit ,for multiple people to enjoy and it was mission accomplished . Fish started a bit off schedule and had to work hard for the first 75 or so crappie . Then there was my want to hammer bluegill at another spot and I was also kinda just letting the sun lower in the sky some to ease the burn .
Tried multiple baits and colors and nothing was really a standout per say , a large gulp minnow in pearl seemed to be about the best all around bait and used it mostly under a float ,with a few free falling adventures in the mix too . Bites were soft when I got there and as the day went on and the sun lowered the fish moved into bite it nicely mode .
Filleted about 12 or so for our house and donated the rest of the box to some want fish folks at my job . Funny thing lately is the amount of folks that don't want to even clean fish and would rather eat store bought , guess it's the lazy syndrome maybe ?
All the fish seemed to be feeding that day and it was an unknown what might take a bite next on every cast , a channel cat ,lots of bass and bluegill and a good amount of crappie wanted in on the program .
Anyway off to my next adventure is me and KABOOM is the word
a few images and off I go ....

Like you said it's funny how many folks don't want to clean fish. My partner in crime and I are both ready and willing to hack them into filets anytime. If we take someone new with us, a lot of time they just don't want them because they have to clean em. Maybe they don't want to get dirty.

Possibly some don't know how to clean them
The love for fishing is one of the best gifts you can pass along
after watching folks in several cases clean fish , this is quite possible , had a fella offer to help me clean a stack one day and he totally destroyed 2 of my largest crappie in the mix , it horrified me to see such a waste and he was pretty darn proud of his hack job.
cut the tail off about an inch or 2 into the body, cut the head off about an inch or 2 behind the gill plate and then the fins about a half into from the area the fins quit and there was about 1/4 of the fish left when he was all smiles saying look how pretty that is ......

It is really odd. I could clean fish and still go to church most times.
Long as I wash my hands.
I do know some people are embarrassed to say they don’t know how.
Nice Ketchn!
You seeing many fawns down your way?
First ones last weekend, that we saw anyways.

tough year for the fawns it seems here , that doe likely had one I never saw , but every fawn we do see is a lone one , have yet to see the normal doubles , played with one on the way down that dirt road on the way in and it was crazy as a deer gets running like a jack rabbit fast back and forth for a long ways , not sure what that was all about , mom just stood there watching with me ....

With the raising cost of food, one would think a free nice meal of fresh fish would be a treat.
People today amaze me, not in a good way.
