I use 4lb Silver Thread, it was discontinued but you can still buy 3K yard spools on eBay. It doesn’t seem to have degraded at all. Usually get a 3K spool for around $20.

I have bulk spool of Stren Gold 6lb line my dad bought in the early 80's. It was stored in a shoe box and the line is till good. Mono will last a very long time if you keep the sunlight off of it.

I'm using my 1st spool now and so far it's top notch.

Good find, but definitely old stock. Hope it works well for you. I always liked the hi viz crappie line. I guess there wasn’t enough sales.

I keep my bulk spools of line in a .50 cal ammo can. It keeps the sun and elements off the line and seems to keep the line in better shape if you don’t use it up quickly.

We've had good luck with Vicious Panfish in 4lb and 6lb test in 1/4lb spools. I use Trilene Big Game for anything 10lb test or larger.

I like the vicious 4 and six too. Been fishing it for years. Same spools too. Trying gamma 2lb test poly flex on my Anniversary rod but I still prefer the vicious.
