Happy looking critter
When ever there's time I take the dogs for walks, most of the time we end up walking off road CRP,slough's,tree's ect. The other day we found some holes in the snow along a snow covered creek with a lot of one hole had a lot of poop around it. So the next walk we brought the game camera and the next walk.... we brought the SD card that go's in the game camera lol ( its a 4 mile walk) any ways when found out what's pooping so much....

I had a couple of otters in one of my gravel pit ponds a few years back. I had a deer stand set up on a tree where I could see the pond & the field next to it. I enjoyed watching my otters play and squeak and one another...........until my neighbor decided he would trespass and trap & kill them. Said he thought he was doing me a favor because they ate up all the fish.........I got plenty of bluegill in that pond........I liked my otters! Since he killed them, none have shown back up that I know of.
They are enjoyable to watch

I heard something behind me while shooting docks last month. As I looked over the other side of the boat up comes an otters head out of the water. Slightly unexpected. I used the same scream my wife uses when she sees a spider.

they make a stinky mess when they hang around for a while , the stuff they put out the other end is past disgusting by about several miles . on a side note , they do not just eat fish , we saw bird pcs. in some piles and fish that didn't look quite finished off before they came out the other end too .....
really cool critters none the less, nice find

Had to resurrect this thread. My wife decided to come with me one day. She is paddling around a few hundred yards away taking in the scenery. All of a sudden I hear “Rob…. Rob!!” I turn around and see her paddling as fast as she can towards me. A pair of otters had been using the pond that year and she must have gotten a little to close to their family? The male (?) had chased her halfway across the pond barking/hissing at her. Gave her a fright and me a great story to tell. She never got further behind me than a few feet the rest of the day.
