Try merging your styles also. Put your favorite jig/grub combo below a slip bobber. Keep adjusting your depth until you get bit. Allows you to stay just above the snags. Plus, you can stop and let the jig sit, then ease it away. Sometimes they just can't stand to watch that little thing leave!
