Just got a text from my cousin. He shot a big one. He is color blind so my brother and myself will help him blood trail it in a bit.

There was some ground shrinkage, but still a very old, very nice deer. A very challenging track. High hit with no pass through. Deer was probably dead before he got out of the stand. But blood was nonexsistant. We found where the arrow pulled out and was hanging in a cedar. I stumbled across him looking for more blood along a deer trail. After finding him I back tracked to the last blood we found. A little blood I am betting from his mouth. I enjoy a good blood trail.

I shot one years ago close to last light. I was having a hard time finding any blood. One of the old timers at the camp came out with a Coleman lantern. Made the blood almost glow in the dark. Made that evening track a whole lot easier. Pretty neat trick he had up his sleeve

It was his first sit of the year. Hadnt done anything out there to get ready. He rattled at first light, 6 bucks responded and this was one of them. The property he hunts is the most ideal deer habitat god ever created.
