Believe it or not China sell crawfish tails. They are cheaper, but don't have the fat of real Louisiana crawfish. It's the fat that so special for Cajun cooking. When eating boiled crawfish people talk about "sucking the heads" this to get all the delicious fat out of the crawfish.

Yep and the ones in stores around here look like an American product with an American flag on the packaging but on the back in small writing it say product of China. Cost nearly half of the true American product out of Louisiana. I gladly pay the extra knowing they come out of Louisiana.

Watched a show on farm raised shrimp from overseas. Get you weekly dosage of antibiotics that way. I imagine the crawfish would be the same way

Personally I've been cooking since I was 8, started when Tennessee Pride breakfast sausage came out. I would stand on a Saltine Crackers Can "they came in metal cans then" to reach the cook top to make my own breakfast. Paul & Kay Prudehome had me doing some handyman work for them and I got hook on creating food combinations. I got to sample stuff when working at the restaurant.
