friend of mine used to eat at a chinese place in Atlanta, swore the "chicken" was odd looking and tasted different ,said he loved it , the locals said "hey they use cat in them dishes they serve" .
he thought they were just joking with him until the health dept. raided em and found lots of cats skinned and cleaned hanging in the refrigerator in back of the place !

When I was stationed in S. Korea ('69-70) the one thing I never saw was a cat ... and very few dogs. Had a dish out in the 'ville called Bulgogi, and only found out what the meat was AFTER I ate it. It was dog, according to the mama-san.
Few days went by that I didn't see some guy hauling a gutted shark on the back of his bicycle, when I was driving thru town.
There was a classic line on cheers where Norm was saying the special at the Asian restaurant was “cat in a hat”. I was in Thailand for a year and who knows what may have been in the dish, but they were good.
